STRATHEARN ARTS ANNOUNCES 3-YEAR SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH
THE GLENTURRET TO HELP BRING BIG NAME MUSICAL PERFORMERS TO STRATHEARN
Crieff, December 10th 2021
Continuing a long tradition of support for culture and events in Crieff and the surrounding areas, The Glenturret Distillery has agreed a 3-year sponsorship deal which will help Strathearn Arts attract some of the best musicians, bands and performers to the area. Beginning in 2022, it is expected that the deal will support up to 4 concerts each year to be held at Strathearn Arts or other appropriate venues in the area.
The Glenturret’s commitment to traditional methods, skilled craftsmanship and a strong sense of place combines to create modern and elegant whiskies. These values will carry through into this new partnership with a programme rooted in traditional music and showcasing high quality musicianship to bring exciting and engaging gigs for today’s audiences.
According to John Laurie, Managing Director at The Glenturret, “As Scotland’s Oldest Distillery, we feel a keen sense of responsibility to preserve the ancient traditions of Scotch whisky-making while ensuring that our whiskies remain relevant and appeal to continually changing tastes. So, we are delighted to be working with Strathearn Arts on this project and look forward to bringing some top-quality Scottish music, to The Glenturret’s hometown.”
“Not only will these concerts bring huge benefits to local people by giving them the chance to see some really exciting and well-known acts right on our doorstep, they will also give visitors yet another reason to come and enjoy all Strathearn has to offer before or after the gigs” explained Phil Mestecky, Director of Strathearn Arts. “This support from The Glenturret gives us the confidence to pitch for the highest possible level of performers which, in turn will put us firmly on the map of Scottish touring venues for the future”.
