Denis Lawson Backs S.O.F.A.
Strathearn’s first online festival celebrating the extraordinary range and quality of the local arts, music and cultural activity in our area will bring the whole community together for a weekend of fun and entertainment.
The event has 3 main aims:
-
Help the local community come together in a celebration of local arts and music in a way that has just not been possible since the lockdown
-
Support our local musicians, artists and arts organisations who have lost significant earnings as a result of closed venues and cancelled events
-
Raise money for LOGOS Youth Project to help them increase opportunities and access for young people interested in developing their artistic and musical talents.
In collaboration with a number of local groups such as Strathearn Arts, Crieff Folk Club, Strathearn Music Society, Re:make, Chris’s Gigs, Culture Perth and Kinross, Kids Week in Crieff and LOGOS among others, and supported by The Touring Network and Glenturret Distillery, this new online festival of the Arts will take place 17-19 July and will see a weekend of events and activities showcasing local arts, music and culture, with a mix of live and recorded events along with competitions, workshops, panel discussions etc., all taking place via online video platforms such as Zoom, Facebook live, YouTube etc.
Events are free to attend online, and money raised from donations and sponsorship will be shared to support the work of performers, artists and local organisations supporting and developing the arts during these difficult times.
We will be announcing more details about the programme in the days and weeks ahead. To make sure you’re the first to find out, please complete the sign-up form on this page.
