The Strathearn Fiddle Band
The Strathearn Fiddle Band is a new project offering children and young people in Crieff and Strathearn the chance to play music in an ensemble.
Led by an experienced professional music leader, the project will provide high-quality musical experiences and performance opportunities for children aged 7 to 17, and help develop youth music in our area.
Membership and attendance will be free of charge/low-cost. The ensemble will welcome a variety of instruments: strings (violin, viola, cello), woodwind (flutes, whistles, recorders), percussion, and traditional instruments like accordion and banjo.
We expect to run two ensemble classes: a junior group for children at primary level (ages 7 to 11),
and a senior group (ages 11 to 17).
Sessions will be blocked to follow the school terms, and each block will conclude with a concert performance.
